Why Styling Matters

The outfits you choose to wear to your session should and will reflect who you are as a person.

Colors, textures, and patters will always play a huge part in how your photos will turn out.

There are some outfits that look amazing in person but just don’t photograph well.

Color Theory

You want the colors you wear to help you stand out in your environment and not blend in! Also, no 2 people should wear the same color, only complimentary colors.

Colors will play a big part in how your photos turn out. I recommend taking a look at my portfolio and social media to get color ideas.

Complimentary colors can be 2 different shades in the same color range OR colors across from each other on the color wheel

e.g Orange - blue

Colors & Patterns

If you’re wanting more dimension, depth, and movement in your photos, paying attention to these 2 things are crucial!

There are multiple different types of textures and patters such as: linen, knit, cotton maxi dresses/skirts etc.

Try to avoid small repetitive prints such as stripes or polka dots. Focus on finding medium sized prints and florals

Layers & Jewelry

Layers can help had more character and movement to your photos. They also add a more warm, happy, cozy vibe to your photos.

Jewelry can also help dress up a more “casual” outfit and define certain parts of your body.

This all comes together in your photos and adding these 2 things will change the look of your outfit completely.
